Introduction
The TruPortal Input/Output Expansion Module consist of 2 separate modules: the Input module and the Output module. The input and outputs can be configured from the ruPortal user interface. They can be linked to access control actions and macros to provide enhanced functionality.
Input/Output Modules
The Output Expansion Board provides 8 relay output points. Output points can be used to control such things as sirens, indicators, or other peripherals. The Input Expansion Board monitors up to sixteen supervised inputs. It communicates to the TruPortal System Controller on the SNAPP bus (RS-485) and interfaces with one TruPortal 8 Relay Output Expansion Board (TP-ADD-OUT-BRD) via VBUS internal cabinet communications.
VBUS communication
VBUS is an internal communication bus that related VBUS modules are used with. The VBUS is not intended for external use. It has been designed to be used in a protected enclosure with adjoining interconnection between modules in the same enclosure. VBUS devices must be located behind the tamper switch of its host device. Therefore, the wire length can never be greater than the size of the box.
